WELCOME FROM FOOT INTERNATIONAL 2016 CONGRESS ORGANIZERS IN BERLIN

Dear Colleagues,

It is our sincere pleasure to welcome you to Berlin for the first ever FOOT International Congress from June 23 to June 25, 2016.

This will be the first time that three scientific foot and ankle societies, i.e. the EFAS (European Foot and Ankle Society), DAF (German Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) and i-FAB (International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Society) join forces to bring together researchers, clinicians and industrial partners interested in all aspects of the foot and ankle.

FOOT International 2016 strives to provide a platform for professionals of all disciplines dealing with foot and ankle surgery and research to interact with each other for exchange of expertise and potential collaboration both, in academia and in healthcare. It is essential for surgeons (EFAS and DAF) to be up-to-date about the current knowledge in basic and applied research (i-FAB), and it is important for primary researchers (i-FAB) to keep in touch with real-life foot and ankle problems and care (EFAS and DAF). Therefore, the integration of primary research (i-FAB) and foot and ankle surgeons (EFAS and DAF) in one congress appears crucial.

It is our explicit aim to share the latest scientific and clinical findings presented by international researchers and clinicians to the foot and ankle biomechanics community. This way we hope to encourage a multi-disciplinary exchange of ideas amongst professionals from all professional backgrounds: Surgeons, Scientists, Physical therapists, Orthosis and shoe makers, and industry.
