Josh Szymanik/KSL-TV Man critically injured in auto-ped accident on UTA platform

SALT LAKE CITY — A 66-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Saturday while standing on a Utah Transit Authority platform near 200 South and 500 West.
Salt Lake City police said a maroon sedan was traveling west on 200 South when the driver somehow became distracted, drove up onto the UTA platform, and hit the man.
The man, whose identity was not disclosed by police, was taken to a hospital with serious leg injuries, police said.
No citations were issued to the driver Saturday, but police were still investigating to figure out exactly what happened.
