If I wanted to get into #acting I would totally use @staley for my headshots because his #portrait work makes the subjects look as if they have a story to tell.
Not that I don't have one, mind you. A story, that is. It's just more of a bedtime story... As in, it would put you to sleep. Ha!

GREETINGS! I'm very excited to spend my 4th Christmas with my #love @pbclark! I even managed to get him AND the #dogs to make a rare appearance in front of the camera! We didn't exactly manage to capture a Hallmark moment, but I am still so happy with my little #family and all the #derp in this photo. Between these guys and all of you, I have a LOT to be thankful for this holiday season. Were you naughty or nice this year? Not that it matters because *SPOILER ALERT* there is no Santa Claus. Hopefully I didn’t just ruin that for you. How old were you when you found out there was no Santa (hopefully it wasn’t just now), and was it traumatizing for you?
I remember being REALLY young, I think about 3 years old, and waking up in the middle of the night to find my mother bringing gifts down out of the attic. She was really mad at me for ruining it. I wasn’t too upset about it; I still got the Tinker Toys building set I wanted, whether they were from Santa or not I didn’t give a FUUUUUUUCK. Happy #ChristmasEve! Or just #Christmas if you're in a different time zone 🎅🏻🎄❄️ or #HappyHolidays if you can't stand the idea of the commercialized Western shitshow that is Christmas, whatevs.

Good morning! Here's a #portrait that @staley took of me yesterday where I sort of look like I was really bad all year but instead of waiting for Santa to bring me coal I started mining my own. It's far from my usual but really fun! It was cold AF outside and my lips were numb so naturally after this photo was taken I had to put a hot, fresh double double protein style from #InNOut in my face (it's a burger you guys, relax) to get my blood flowing again. Merry Christmas Eve! More holiday photos to follow.
P.S.- don't be a Grinch. If you have anything shitty you want to say about my face, keep it to yourself or get blocked for being a flaming douche canoe. 🚫🔥💦🚣🏻

I just want all of you to know that, even if you can’t be with family or are alone or having to work this holiday season, you are not alone in your alone-ness. It’s easy to feel isolated when such a family & couples-oriented holiday comes up, to feel unhappy or even somehow inadequate that your holiday isn’t like that of other people, of Hallmark commercials and the movies; it’s easy to forget not EVERYONE has that.

I don’t currently speak to my parents. I don’t talk about it online; people always say that my parents must want to disown me for what I do or sarcastically claim that they must be “so proud", but it’s kind of the other way around… I slowly reached the decision to stop communicating with them over the past year, not because of them disagreeing with my lifestyle, but the opposite. My parents have over the years adopted a rather radical political viewpoint that makes me very uncomfortable. The time came that I realized every discussion I had with them turned into a platform to discuss their own beliefs, to try to convince me to be a racist/xenophobe/conspiracy theorist like them, which is against everything I stand for. My parents are older, and have somehow become convinced that every “fact" they read on every blog on the internet is true. My mom used to call me in the middle of the night to find out if I made good tips at work which was hella G of her, but my family was never tight, though my parents have been married almost 50 years. Still, it sucked to arrive at the decision to not speak to them, even if it was ultimately the best decision for me.

So, even though I’m super fortunate in that I have @pbclark in my life, I know what it feels like when you see the social media posts and the commercials and the ads with the smiling happy families in their Christmas sweaters and you feel a little (or big) pang because that doesn’t exist for you. A lot of us know that feeling, whether because of loss or by choice like me, or even just because of work or distance. There are a lot of us “holiday orphans” out there! #holidayorphansunite! Hello from #rainy #LA! Even though I'm not really into the cannabis thing, but I got my medical marijuana card yesterday after passing the test to get my drivers license, just so that I could try #CBD (cannabidiol, from the cannabis plant but not containing the THC that gives you the "high"). I had heard and read such an incredible amount of good things about CBD and autism that I really wanted to try it. So far I feel much more #zen than I usually do, without feeling loopy or impaired. My takeaway is that I would recommend this for anyone who struggles with anxiety/stress. I've had a Xanax prescription for years but only ever take it when I feel like I might die (or when I have an autistic meltdown)- This has the same calming effect for me without the drowsiness or the addictive qualities of benzodiazepines. Do any of you have CBD experience? What are your thoughts?
